The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild
>Trial of the Sword rewarding you with a beefed up Master Sword with 60 base damage
>Master Mode gives you a separate save file and a slightly remixed world with a new tier of enemies and tougher AI
>Champions Ballad adds an entire dungeon with Link ultimately getting his very own Divine Beast

TotK not having DLC hurts it in the long run. Even just a Master Mode for TotK would have been amazing. They could've had a completely new slew of monster horns to fuse with.

TotK was an overall disappointment for me. I genuinely had faith that the DLC would change my mind since Master Mode for BotW was a blast, but nope. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even part of a Switch 2 upgrade. Just a fucking phone app. The game that keeps on disappointing me. Even a second HW game in this style to drive it home.

>dozens of identical box rooms you can cheese with meals
>enemies now have health regen and are health sponges to break your weapons quicker
>a single 5 room "dungeon" that lasts half an hour
Oh no! Nintendo didn't charge me $30 for phoned in trash AGAIN! How could they bros?!

Yeah, the more time passes, the more I've realized that BotW is the more cohesive game, and always will be. The building mechanics really handicapped TotK development, and I don't know why they thought that that's what people wanted from Zelda. I loved the added caves and Ganondorf was a fun fight, but as an overall game TotK just does too much without really doing enough to differentiate itself.

Master Mode was kinda lame even though I put around 80 hours into it over the span of a few years. The regen kinda sucked for regular enemy encounters but it was neat for the bosses.

I actually think it makes fighting mobs more interesting too because you have to manage to keep their health down while juggling multiple targets
