I play Tekken in a way as such to nullify and prevent all mind games through movement and poking. I feel like this makes my opponents think of me as:
a) a pussy afraid of confrontation
b) a pseud, not a real Tekken intellectual
And most importantly, it seems to lead to boring gameplay encounters for them. There is nothing exciting since I'm just preventing yomi from ever happening.

In my defense, I do this because I grew up watching Knee and JDCR as my idols and they have a very anti-mind game playstyle, where you try to win while guessing as little as possible, that type of safe Korean play style. It always seemed so high IQ to me so I learned the game trying to emulate it. What do you guys think?

Geeeranon here. Back in the day I got my ass beat more than once at SHGL by really good players who did NOTHING but standing forward kick on SFalpha.

They may think you're boring, or a bot or predictable, but does this matter? You're a knowledge test for being able to finely read distances at poke range, and their approach game. You're giving up initiative, which is a significant thing.

You should be able to play more than one style, and you should be able to handle people bming you for your style gracefully. And if people don't want to play you again because they aren't having fun, that should be completely expected and not a win on your part.
