This is bizarre. I know most people that played the game in the last 15 years didnt experience it because they likely just use save states to save the game but decided to save, exit and reload the game one and was so caught off guard by it, I had to go back to level 1 to grind up lives again

Too many vertical scrolling levels and auto-scrolling levels. DKC1 is more fun to go back to and replay because it has fewer of those that slow down replays. Don't get me wrong I love DKC2, but aito-scrolling levels are the worst fucking things in the world.

Most of the game is murky indoor areas that don't really invoke the "country" theme at all.

Lost World is cool in theory, but they should have just made the other five Flying Krock levels instead and had you redeem all the Kremcoins at once to get into Krocodile Kore.

Cauldron and Quay probably should have switched places.

The maps do a way worse job than 1 and 3 in conveying where the fuck you are and how the levels fit together and how your Kongs travel between levels.

Rambi doesn't get used for shit in this game.

I don't mind that too much, the whole game has a darker atmosphere than the first one. The whole setup of DK getting held for ransom and the overworld music gives the whole game a sense of urgency the first DKC didn't have.

Diddy Kong is objectively better than Dixie Kong since he doesn't have a weird delay when throwing barrels and they don't have an arc although this was also an issue with the first game.

I just played this 10 minutes ago. Why the fuck do Squitter's webs sometimes disappear instantly and randomly while you stand on them? I notice this happens more often while traveling diagonally up.
By the way, the latter half of Animal Antics is so fucking ass that I want to rape the daughter of whichever man designed it and didn't bother checking whether it was fun.

As for Animal Antics I assume you mean the parrot section. Don’t hold Y to go fast but just use the D-pad and flip Squawks as soon as the wind changes. It’s much much more manageable this way.

Sometimes you have one out and it feels like the animation to dissapear happens as soon as youn touch it no matter how recent it is.

I found some of the late game levels a bit of a slog. I was kind of just ready for the game to be over when I got to the last world.

Glimmers Galleon, whenever you change direction and the fish's light faces directly forwards. It's annoying as hell and would probably trigger epileptic trannies.

No secret boss fight against Klubba even though it jokingly gives you the option fight him instead of paying Kremcoins. Also the new boss in the GBA version is trash.

No confrontation with the spooky kremling in the library. He just chases you, it's a one and done. Maybe should've been the area boss instead of Ghost Krow.

Have to go to each individual world to access its respective Lost World level. They don't just get added to the map as you progress. Pretty minor nitpick.

Have to visit each Kong family member and pay them at least once for the proper 102%. Just a personal pet peeve.
