It's sad that most people have that wrong perception of Big Oil. It's honestly still one of the best heists in the game, and even better back when it was a Pro Job. One of the only ones that actually managed to do well with "plan for stealth AND loud," and getting the right reactor required paying attention to actual clues (and if things went wrong, a lot of teamwork for protecting the power and shlepping it back out). Very few heists really match it; even the later overcomplicated stealth heists don't hit the same mark, especially since PD2's stealth mechanics are kinda shit.

That's actually where PD3 was an improvement over the prequel. The heists themselves where fairly good and had really great and natural transitions between stealth>loud: The restart meme wasn't an issue in PD3 at all.. but otoh the devs fucked up other things something fierce, stuff they apparently utterly forgot from ~10 years of handling PD2. Some of it has been fixed (the fucking xp issue for example) but there are still unfortunate annoyances left in the game, which is a shame because the gameplay is fairly fun: It's when a heist ends and you're back in the menu interface you start to hate it.

God, I haven't played PD2 in a while. The last time I played it they threw out an update that completely broke playing with friends and I was so frustrated I deleted it from my computer. Haven't felt like going back to it since.

Why wouldn't the first day be stealthable? Just throw down an ECM and genocide the bikers.
The second day is only half-way stealhable though, the alarm will go off once guards notice the cellar door's been opened: I guess it's hypothetically possible to find the right engine and book it out of there before any of the patrols notice the door but I don't think anyone's actually done so.
