Playing SMTVV right now, currently in the final dungeon and all I think about is that I wish it was Persona. The combat, graphics, level design and music are pretty nice but man the mundane story and vapid characters with barely any personality makes it feel so soulless.

Person 3-4-5 truly are the only good SMT games. Because I played Nocturne too and it was even worse than SMTVV. None of the games in this series come even close to Persona 3-4-5. Not even close.

-That dungeon on a boat towards the end is atrocious.
-Their soundtrack vocalist is absolutely AWFUL. I played the game twice, putting in over 200 hours, and i have no fucking clue what she's trying to say in any of the songs she sings in.

Still, hands down, the best game in the series.

>Terrible "twist" with who the traitor is, even if the real twist is that the group knew in advance. It unironically should have been Haru who was convinced to turn against the group by Akechi
>Haru wasted by putting her near the end of the game
>Same issues the series always has with combat, where you fall into Charge/Concentrate+Big Single Hit Move, with Mediarahan/Debilitate/Heat Riser thrown in for actual fights

They pussyfooted around the problem of PT hitting an innocent target. They wanted their cake and eat it too by making you go against a pedo teacher on the first case, then let you be groomed by a female pedo teacher but it's leddit ok because le consent. They found out about Akechi through le quirky slipup instead of proper investigation, something even p4 understood and gave it a tiniest of a shit about. I think p5's and p4's problems are that they wanted to tackle trendy societal issues but the poor writing quality makes it vapid and as shallow as a puddle masked by over the top presentation. The subway slammer was stupid but the serious tone loops him back to awesome, I think they should just lean into that stupid fun angle if they can't hire proper writers.
