Fatlus RPGs are a massive time investment, and people started hearing about how inferior the narrative was to Persona. Nobody wants to sink 100 hours into something worse than that.

>2 million sales for a seventy dollar jrpg that came about less than a year ago
>to put that in perspective, lifetime dmc3 sales are estimated to about 2.3 million
why should it be surprising that sales dropped off quickly?

Turn-based RPGs only sell well if they have an exceptionally good narrative or are low budget nostalgia faggotry simulators (pic related). Nobody actually buys turn-cringe slop for the gameplay.

Octopath is fun and Team Asano are the only ones making any modern RPGs worth a damn (regrettably).

They are repetitive and boring. Persona 5 has an excellent presentation, but how many gamers even finished it?

They're boring. Not much of a market for them sadly.

faglus removed the only thing people care about in their shitty movie games. Just look at how bad SMT sells.

Metaphor sold poorly because it was half-assed Retard-kun, not because it had a turn based battle system.

There'd be a bigger niche for these types of unpopular games if people simply had more money, but that's not the case, so the industry must either contract, or keep releasing stinkers that no one can afford anyway.
