You have an entire roster filled with cool designs that normalfags would love to actually play as. A lot of the Mega and later forms are bad-ass so they can attract the shonen audience while the cute younger forms can seduce the girls. All you need for the games is good direction and a sense of fun/satisfaction.

What's the appeal of Pokemon? Capturing monsters and a long journey. And that's what the games do, despite the flaws, the games feel like a long satisfying journey where you form a team you want. Digimon "Adventure" games don't really have a true sense of progression or adventure or satisfaction, while in Pokemon games even the town names are iconic. This is why they need a game director with good taste who makes good decisions. Because Digidevs always makes games that THEY want, not want the AUDIENCE wants. The games actually need that sense of satisfaction, regardless of the cool rosters that have Beelzemon and Fuckemon. You need that "hook". Even after Cyber Sleuth and the newer titles, which are improvements, they still don't have that genuine sense of satisfaction because the games are so dull. Give the Digimon IP to Toby Fox or Yoko Taro or Netease or Capcom. This franchise has all the ingredients it needs to be godtier, it just needs a great chef to cook.

everyone in Japan is scared of Jewtindo and their Yakuzas.
Bandai doesn't want to compete with Pokemon so they are forced to make mediocre games to not make Jewtindo angry

The main appeal of Digimon is your bond with your partner(s), that's why people want their favourites to be in the games. As for your sense of adventure literally every digimon rpg has one not even sure what you're on about there nor do I understand why you want to have people known for subversive storytelling to have the reigns.

The main sense of satisfaction comes from seeing your partners grow and get stronger over time as you raise them not just from completing arbitary checkmarks.

Kenji works for PLEX, a design company that frequently collaborates with Bandai and does freelance work too, not sure about So Morimiya but I assume it's the same since a lot of Digimon artists and designers don't work for Bandai specifically.

>And the virtual pets
The v-pets are the definition of completing arbitrary checklists same for the World games.
The comics are all based on the anime and the manga and novels after vtamer are inspired by the anime.
The card game, well, it a card game the idea doesn't mesh with bonds since you're constantly changing out cards

No. You haven't even read seekers or any of the manga have you? Not even the Xros Wars manga is based on the anime.
>The card game, well, it a card game the idea doesn't mesh with bonds since you're constantly changing out cards
The entire concept of the game is that you raise and evolve your digimon, this is a key reason why the game has mechanics like the breeding area, digivolution and inherited effects.

Where you have to dry follow a series of checklists to get a specific Digimon, yes.
>Not even the Xros Wars manga is based on the anime
Reading comprehension.
Based and inspired are two different words. While Taichi's bond with veedramon was a thing it was never emphasised in the same way the anime did it until Ulforce super evolved and I think tamers had either started by then or 02 was ending either way it was past the point when the anime introduced it as an actual narrative element and mechanic.
>The entire concept of the game is that you raise and evolve your digimon
Most monster tamer series and card games based on them are, that's kind of the entire genre. We're talking about something entirely different.

Digibros, this year we're eating good. We got new anime, new vpet, new figmas, new cards, and new games. It seems that Bamco started listening to all those surveys we did beforehand and gave us what we asked.

Well you're in luck because they're holding another survey! Access this link and tell them what we want to see more from the franchise:

>Where you have to dry follow a series of checklists to get a specific Digimon, yes.
Because they're raising sims, where the entire point is to simulate raising a pet. The objectives are making sure your digimon is trained in a specific way to stimulate its growth(evolution path)

>While Taichi's bond with veedramon was a thing it was never emphasised in the same way the anime
It's literally the same thing the two of them were very much strong friends and their faith in one another was part of the series, v-tamer made use of the mechanics of the virtual pet for evolution rather than making it completely based around the idea strong emotion...which was actually done by the very first digimon manga C'Mon Digimon which predates both v-tamer and the anime.

>We're talking about something entirely different.
We aren't. The raising and bonding aspect is integral to Digimon's identity as a franchise, it's the main appeal and that's why every aspect of the franchise reinforces this. The latest games spell it out in its advertising by straight up telling you its about bonds between man and digimon.

>where the entire point is to simulate raising a pet. The objectives are making sure your digimon is trained in a specific way to stimulate its growth(evolution path)
Again, you're talking about something completely different conflating it with the concept and theme of a bond that was introduced by the anime.
As a game and by design there's no concept for a bond or getting your mon to love you in the v-pet. If you really want to get into the origins of Digimon then the spikes around the v-pet's screen are remnants of when it was a cage where Digimon were captured and forced to fight.
>It's literally the same thing the two of them were very much strong friends and their faith in one another was part of the series
It's not, again, while they had a bond it's not the same thing what we see in the anime which you and the other anon thought this series was about.
>v-tamer made use of the mechanics of the virtual pet
Which as we've established wasn't about bonds.
> C'Mon Digimon which predates both v-tamer and the anime.
Which again, also didn't feature bonds in the same way. The main character initially rejects bun if I remember right until he starts to project the feelings he had towards his dog on to it.
There's also a character in the beginning who just follows a guide to get metal Greymon as well.

>The raising and bonding aspect is integral to Digimon's identity as a franchise
And yet it only plays a significant part in one branch.

The game devs Bamco hires to make Digimon games are like AA tier at best because they have no faith in the franchise to allocate a bigger budget for their game development
And it's not like the franchise is popular enough for outside big game dev companies to buy a license to develop their own spin off, so we will never see a Digimon Musou game developed by Omega Force or an arena fighter game with a huge roster made by CyberConnect2 for example.

>As a game and by design there's no concept for a bond or getting your mon to love you in the v-pet.
It's a raising sim, the entire point is that you raise your mon and this is where the bonding is meant to come from as you care for your v-pet. The cage aspect was left incorporated onto the Digital Monster line to emphasize a sense of danger, these were removed for the Pendulum and later series because it didn't fit in with the lore of the vpets being specialised monitoring tools.
>It's not, again, while they had a bond it's not the same thing what we see in the anime
It is literally the same thing we see in the anime, the only thing that's different is that evolution mechanics are derived from v-pet mechanics.
>The main character [actually has to go through a character arc]
The entire finally was Bun overcoming Death Meramon with the MC's faith in him. The entire lead up to that point was the MC learning to accept Bun and to get over his past trauma. It's straight up a precursor for both v-tamer and adventure.
>And yet it only plays a significant part in one branch.
It plays a signicant part if all branches because that's literally the core concept of the franchise. s.
