I still like Fromsoft games. ER being open world slop sucked but it was still fun enough and Nightreign is also fun for being an asset flip but I never actually liked any of the off-brand Souls clones. Nioh, Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P you name it. I really wanted to love Wuchang because of the titties but I'm forcing myself to play like all the others. This includes Sekiro too btw. I don't consider that a true Fromsoft game either.

30 minutes is not enough to conclude you dislike a game or not. You should always give a game at least 5 hours. I started with DS2, played it for 30 minutes, hated it, and then gave up. I've always hated souls games because they simply aren't fun to me.
I don't like 10 minute boss runbacks, I don't like bonfires, I don't like not being able to save when I want, I don't like bosses that can kill me in two hits, I don't like not being able to cancel my animations, I don't how slow the movement is, and I don't like rolling on the ground like I'm having a seizure to evade attacks.
A "fun" action game to me would be something like Dragon's Dogma, Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Revengeance etc.
To me, Soulslike games are the worst thing to happen to gaming in the last 20 years aside from DLC and gachas

I'd be inclined to play them if they actually tried to make magic more substantial. But nope its blue, yellow, red circles for 10+ years

All classics. But I've played enough great soulslikes, mediocre soulslikes and disappointing soulslikes now that I have been overstuffed.

It's the same shit with metroidvanias. Your metroidvania has to be considered the best shit ever for me to even bother with it. I tried Hollow Knight and couldn't be arsed finishing it.

The only soulslike I have even a slight chance of playing anytime soon is Hell is Us, assuming it turns out to be as good as advertised. Odds that actually happens are below 10%.

I don't hate Souls games, I just think Elden Ring has done it so well that no more soulslikes are needed. You can't make a better souls like than Elden Ring, it wouldn't be a souls like anymore. Devs would have more success by trying to make a better Sekiro or Armored Core.
