I mean the paranoia isn't wrong. TPM for example saves keys used in ecryptions, which are specifically there so on a subpoena Microsoft can release the passphrases and keys to the respective government. The EU is planning to mandate a feature like SecureBoot that will create a chip based vault where all the evidence is stored offline if you used slurs and shit.

It's a reasonable technology for corporate devices, but the cost/benefit analysis just doesn't make sense for home users. The fact that they're pushing it on all devices, rather than selling is as a enterprise "value add" feature should tell you something about their real motivations.

Reset your CMOS, that's what I did
either short the pins for it or remove the battery.

anyways, I think I know what happened. I don't have a dedicated TPM and I didn't enable fTPM in bios. So it fucked itself and got stuck in a loop. Anyways, I won't be trying for a while and desu, even if I got it working, I have a 2070 and a Ryz 7 2700x. The game will run like shit.

Remove the battery to reset the bios. Must be a bizarre GPU and mobo combo not to work in UEFI.
Quite likely that some people will also run into issues with their boot drive using MBR, which won't work in UEFI. There's a windows tool to fix that though.

Instead of using an insane level of anti cheat, BF6 should instead just be a self booting game. The Wizardry series is a good example of this: Upon inserting the game into the drive and booting, it would then use its own OS and take over from there instead of booting into IBM or MS DOS. I feel this would be a more easily accessible and better form of cheat prevention.

>Can you no longer alt-tab back into your regular OS?
I mean this in all sincerity: How old are you? Multitasking, such as alt tabbing, is something on machines since... Windows 95? Games before that, and games on 95/98 that launched in MSDOS, didn't have the ability to alt tab as the concept of things like "taskbar" weren't a thing. The games in question that did this stopped in the 1990s.

> Does it require high-tier hardware meaning you lock out all the poorfags on 10 year old laptops?
Actually it would lower requirements since the PC is not loading Windows, or another OS, itself. That's a lot of freed RAM.

It's a retarded idea.
Downsides: You now have to support every hardware ever made from scratch, because if you're booting your own OS you can no longer use windows drivers.

Imagine how much trouble Linux has with driver support. Now imagine writing all of that for scratch for your game.
