Metaphor was GOTY 2024
Expedition will be GOTY 2025 barring something unexpected.
FF7 Rebirth is a very good game that had some sections that should've been cut and some of the open world bloat should've been trimmed and if that happened, it would've given Metaphor a run for its money last year.
I have never played a Xenoblade game.
"something unexpected" in this case being one of those August/September releases that look weird but promising (Hell is Us, Lost Soul Aside, Cronos, Silent Hill f) actually over-delivering on their potential. or. possibly, Ghost of Yotei ends up being the evolution of what Tsushima was and is even better, or at least to those who don't have culture war brainrot because /v/ still thinks its the late 2010s.

how is it an evolution if the main thing it has going for it is just taking the good things from past jrpgs and boxing it in a modern package? Thats not evolution or even innovation. Adding sekiro parry and Elden ring delayed attacks into fights isnt evolution either, it's just an extra mechanic to add another point of player interactivity. What did it evolve?
