>>717311052I think it depends on the movement. Two droidekas in a hallway are insanely dangerous because they're difficult to damage, hard to avoid, and they each have two rapid fire blasters. If they were a little smarter they would focus fire on just one jedi and spread their shots in a pattern that can't be blocked in a straight line by a lightsaber. If they were just 3% smarter the droidekas should have killed Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon in their first appearance. In that scene they had every advantage. So the only move is to run away unless you're so OP that you can stop all the blaster bolts in midair and kill them remotely with the force through their shield. In a less restrictive environment the jedi would have more options.
Actually, the tradies should have definitely been able to kill both jedi in that scene if they surrounded them at the intersection with like 12 droidekas but I guess they're retarded.
>>717312051>been able to kill both jedi in that scene if theyDidn't deliberately open the door and just let the poison gas kill them. Or blew out the window to the conference room. Or just blew up the Republic ship with them still on it.
>>717312051They would've also killed the jedi by just leaving the fucking door locked and letting them choke on poison. So yea they are 100% retarded.
>>717312051Nute was super underestimating Jedi. His assistant said "have you ever met Jedi before?"

>>717312051>spread their shots in a pattern that can't be blocked in a straight line by a lightsaber. This is more commonly known as a shotgun.
>>717312369Yeah, but it can also be done with regular blasters when you have multiple units firing. And ideally they all fire at the same time.
>>717312190Jedi have breath control that lets them resist poison, but blowing out the window could have worked.
Realistically the best option for the Trade Feds would have been to pretend to actually hold the negotiations and then try to kill the Jedi in their sleep. It's not guaranteed to work, but it's better than what they actually did. Then they could have told the Republic "well shit, the Jedi died in a space boating accident, we're super sorry guys, here let me give the your president some more underage Twi'lek hookers from Planet Epstein IV, surely this will smooth over relations while we invade this fucking backwater shithole and turn their 14-year-old queen into our personal stripper".
>>717312710>Jedi have breath control that lets them resist poisonWhich the audience didn't know about so it still seems dumb. And even if they could hold their breath for days having to cut through the door would give the trade gooks enough time to fill the hallways with droids and blast em once they escape.

Those riot suppression droids seen in the disney star wars movies are seemingly a poorly kept secret, too, and are only used when everyone in the area needs to be killed or captured.
>>717314029if you plan to have an empire, why would you keep the factories around that can pump out droids that any retard can find/operate rather than something that is impossible to keep covert? makes it a little easier to ensure you're the only real army in the galaxy.

>>717314864I trust droids.

You have to wonder how the Empire managed to fill the ranks of its TIE pilots before the interceptor.
>>717315004Because it was the right thing to do, anon.

>>717314029>Why did battle droids almost completely go away after the first three movies? After the clone wars there was a galactic phobia toward battle droids, there are no factories left the only models are the ones that weren't used, they are extremely expensive to fabricate and you would need to a contract for more than 30 years to keep producing these to make them profitable for any company, althought you could still find them in the black market and that's why criminals like the Hutts had some of them as guards
>>717313063Like RLM said, they could've told the jedi to leave and then blasted their ship after they boarded it, or blast it before they got off.
>>717314029Unironically it was racism. Or human supremacist over both other life forms and droids. They were the galaxy's largest employer. After the biggest war ever being a droid war, nobody wanted to have armed droids in their daily lives and the people wouldn't have accepted the Emperor's rule if the used droids for either military or police.

sure, i wish george continued to get infinite money to make whatever he wanted to make, because at the end of the day star wars is his story. after the prequel trilogy and backlash from people who wanted OT 2, however, you could tell that his heart wasnt in it anymore, or at the very least that he never wanted to direct again.
disneywars is basically fanfiction and theyre dumb as fuck for not just running with whatever story treatment he gave them, but they spent the money on the ip and the "fans" got their OT 2, so there isnt much to be done anymore.

>>717319972That would have been interesting to see. Theoretically he couldn't lose because he controlled both sides, but if Dooku betrayed him, or if he got killed and Grievous assumed control, that could have changed and the CIS could have been a legitimate threat to his rule.

This is so fucking trash. I swear the only reason this gets good reviews is because it's basically given away for free. What a fucking tragedy
This is unironically one of the most hype moments in the Prequels and it's so small that most viewers don't notice that Anakin is fighting the Jedi Order's top swordfighting instructor with one hand as he brutally strangles one of his assistants with his free hand after brute strength bashing her lightsaber out of her hands. And not strangling her with the Force, but actually physically strangling her as he continues to fight Cin Drallig.

>>717317134People have already said, yeah there was a giant fuck-off shield on hoth. In battefront 2, you even plant a beacon to destroy the remaining escape transports with orbital bombardment to end the mission.
For geonosis, there were a metric fuck ton of jedi on the ground that would have been killed, plus I'm pretty sure the only ships in the republic fleet at that point were those mini-star destroyers which were just transports and not full on warships.

>>717320676I didn't mind fighting them but the AI sure does in the battlefront 1 campaign. Clones are programmed to commit suicide by droideka as fast as possible to the point it's actually hard to keep up.
BTW, hard mode on PC is a different animal from on console. I used to easily beat the ps2 version on hard as a kid. Hard on PC requires some concentration as an adult. The Geonosis battle is a good example. When I finally, barely won that I had about 170 kills no deaths, constantly oneshotting clankers from the LAAT..
>>717325829I've seen some videos on YouTube where people have modded the ROTS game multiplayer to support online play. It'd be nice to put new characters in it too.
>>717325934Holy nostalgia. They did a DOA by Foo Fighters one too, right?
>>717325978Yeah, in Battlefront 2. Not only that, a beta version of battlefront 2.
Not sure how they got access to that, but you can tell from the different HUD and score counter that pops up when they get a kill.

>>717325935LAATs are super underrated. They're in the Republic at War mod for Empire at War and they wreck shit. Just as long as you don't act like a retard and fly them directly over enemy anti-air units they can kill basically everything on the field.

>>717324936The amount of power creep between OT, prequels and post-prequels is pretty huge. It's gotten to the point some of the Disney lore is now even more OP than Luke was in old school EU shooting black holes out of his hand and materializing spaceships from the force.
Rolly boy hijinks are fun as fuck in BF2
The amount of stalling you can do just rolling around that one point on Kamino is hilarious

>>717326151I did, I just never did this. I always get the official toys for ships I like if possible; I couldn't be satisfied with a cow clip.
>>717326084There are definitely some similarities, but I wouldn't call it a straight ripoff since IIRC Filoni's orange waifu was in the planning stages even before ROTS.
>>717326270Fair, but like half of TCW is just ripping stuff off from the EU so I wouldn't put it past them to have done some diving for "inspiration."
>>717326270If they were "planning" on forcing in a Padawan for the guy notoriously not trusted by the Jedi Council before Episode III, they probably should have slipped in the slightest hint of her bullshit non-canon existence.
>>717325086It's the same difference to me. Seems like either the clones were brainwashed with their upbringing or controlled with a chip but either they had no choice or they had no choice
>>717317443HUBBA WUBBA WOO WOOO ARF ARF ARF ARF ARF
AOOOOOOOOOGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
>>717326328This is probably true, but maybe not completely. I remember the original TCW game for GCN/Xbox and nothing from that game ever really showed up in any other material, including the TCW series, when that's what you'd expect them to mine for material. I just think a lot of the criticism of TCW is unfair in spite of its flaws, much like the prequels that spawned it.
>>717326342This is a legit complaint, but it's really no worse than Starkiller, or arguably even Kyle Katarn. I like both of these characters, but they introduce some continuity issues too. The Dark Forces 2 manual says Jerec is as powerful as Vader, which implies that Kyle is as powerful as Luke for being able to beat him. So if that's the case, why didn't Kyle kill the Emperor? For that matter, why didn't Kyle get found out as a potential Jedi when he was a stormtrooper?
>takes away Anakin's best friend, Barriss Offee
>makes her friends with Ahsoka Tano instead
>also makes her a Muslim terrorist

>>717314029Shutdown signal presumably would have bricked the surviving battle droids (to prevent them from being simply turned back on) and individually, they were almost completely worthless. So unless you just happened to have a coder around with enough experience on whatever proprietary OS the Trade Federation was using to upload a software patch reactivating the droids, it was straight off to the scrapyard.
>>717317227Prequels were bad at the time because media being full of soul was the norm regardless of quality. Prequels look like a masterpiece trilogy today, because modern media is made by jewish billionaires and designed to appease indian-spic-nigger goycattle hybrids
>>717326471>Kyle is as powerful as Luke for being able to beat him. So if that's the case, why didn't Kyle kill the Emperor?Nobody is as powerful as Darth Sidious. Luke could not have beaten him in Episode VI. Palpatine died solely to his own hubris. Maybe EU Grandmaster Luke would give him a solid fight, but in RotJ there wasn't a being in the galaxy that could defeat Darth Sidious head to head.
>>717326427It's clear that they didn't really have a choice regardless, except for the clones that were permitted to have more independence like Republic Commandos and ARC troopers. But I think using the mind control chips was a copout because it glosses over how much brainwashing can fuck somebody up.
>>717326471From what I recall they didn't take a lot of inspiration from what was canonically a part of the early days of the clone wars, timeline-wise, since it seems like they wanted to steer clear of anything to do with padawan Anakin, which was a terrible mistake, in my opinion.
>>717326604I think the mind chip is thematically worse but makes more sense for the information to be contained. It doesn't seem like a good bet that every single clone will keep it a secret from every jedi (who have psychic powers) after fighting together with them for years. It's easier for the clones to not know about it until it happens.
It is still bullsheit either way though.
>>717326604The mind control chips became necessary when those fucks turned Clones from vat grown soldiers who are genetically modified for following orders, the only thing they have ever known, into a bunch of regular soldiers who look alike under the armor. Who behave as if they are humans that lived a normal life.
That piece of shit cowboy hat fuck face.
>>717326586This is definitely true. Luke wouldn't have won if Vader didn't help him, and since Vader was Luke's father and not Kyle's, that wouldn't have happened for Kyle. But it begs the question of how much a Jedi's power in the Force has to do with their status as a prophesied hero. There was also the hilarious Andor Vex example from KOTOR, which implies that the two aren't necessarily closely connected.
>>717316282>Confederacy of Independent Systems>have to use overwhelming industrial advantage to compensate for retarded generalship>Confederate States of America>has to use brilliant generalship to compensate for overwhelming industrial disadvantageThe ultra-capitalist CIS arguably shares more in common with the Communist USSR than it does with its implied namesake.
>>717326694This is also a good point. It might have been a little better if the brain implants didn't compel them to betray the Jedi but instead prevented Jedi from reading their minds, like Baker in the first MGS.
>>717326694In ye olde lore, Order 66 was not a secret. It was on a 150+ long list of contingency orders. Things that would likely never happen but had standing orders if they did. Order 65 involved arresting the Chancellor with lethal force if necessary. The cheeky aspect of 66 was that there was no "if necessary" for the lethal force to be applied.
>>717326816I don't know that this makes a lot of sense. The Chancellor isn't going to issue Order 65, so how would it even get issued? If some senior commander, like somebody on the Jedi Council, issued Order 65, the Chancellor would countermand it with Order 66. Maybe the Senate could issue Order 65, but Palpy IS the Senate.
>>717326950>"In the event of either (i) a majority in the Senate declaring the Supreme Commander (Chancellor) to be unfit to issue orders, or (ii) the Security Council declaring him or her to be unfit to issue orders, and an authenticated order being received by the GAR, commanders shall be authorized to detain the Supreme Commander, with lethal force if necessary, and command of the GAR shall fall to the acting Chancellor until a successor is appointed or alternative authority identified as outlined in Section 6 (iv).">but Palpatine is the Senateyes

This is why I think when making stories sent in wartime the characters shouldn't be relatable to the average aufience, the kind of people who fight wars have absolutely nothing to do with normal people, much less the millennial "pet parent" audience that's shocked by asinine stuff like using the word "genocide" or rape.

The republic was generally 'losing' the war, with any battle where CIS weren't held back or sabotaged by dooku and palps being a bloodbath. It's only after the shutdown code and destruction of CIS leadership that the empire achieved victory.
