Single player Final Fantasy 1 to 13 in order

What do you guys think? I've played 15, 16 and 7r

The only FF games you've played are the ones that are nothing lik FF, so you may not enjoy them.
I'm sure you know that none of them are related to you can just play any of them in any order. The very first FF is an ancient as fuck game and in my opinion is only worth playing to see what games were like back then. You know, to see the experiment that worked blah blah blah. It kind of sucks though.
Id recommend FF9, 6, or original 7. People like 4 a lot too but I haven't played that one.
Oh and FF16 is the worst game I've ever played I fucking hate it so much holy shit.

I’ve been doing this myself and having a good time (up to 5 currently).

I’d recommend emulating the originals > l so you can to really feel how the series evolved. Pixel Remasters are fine but kinda homogenize the 2D games imo and are expensive af.

Also may as well add tactics while you’re at it.

4, 6, OG 7, 9 and 10 I can recommend to anyone.
Out of those, classic 7 is often the most safe bet. It's a beloved title for a reason, being perfectly paced, easy to pick up and play, challenging enough to keep more experienced people entertained.

After that, choose your poison. Since the stories and worlds are (usually) not connected in any way, you can pretty much shoot blind. Different things appeal to different people, and that's also why there's so much arguments about various titles in the series.

I for example really liked the FF XIII trilogy as a whole, but I know that many bash it as the worst blunder of the millennium and death of the series.

The ones I would personally recommend skipping are the NES originals (1-3) and the MMOs (11 & 14). I also wasn't too fond of VIII and XII.
