Neither of those maneuvers are required to beat X1 though. You have both a shield and a temporary invincibility ability on top of the best boss weapons in any X game.

now imagine growing up only able to play this on an emulator most of the time since your parents would only rent the game from blockbuster, not buy it for you. and imagine your membrane keyboard only lets you press 2 keys at a time since there's no anti-ghosting. wanna know how i learned that anti-ghosting exists and why you'd want it?

It was comfier on an actual snes controller because the buttons weren't in a perfect square like they are today. It's cancer on modern controllers though without remapping.

Learn to not suck. Why do you even need to do this while holding a charge? There's like two instances where you need to wall dash, and they're to pick up items early in spots with no enemies.

Granted, there's not much of a reason to play them now anyway. I had them when I was younger and it was kinda neat to play MMX on a handheld, but nowadays there's like fifty ways to just play the real games handheld. And plenty of those have hacks to play as Zero, which was the one selling point of Xtreme 2. There's no reason to put up with the compromises needed to get those games on the GBC.

You can do offwall charged buster dash jumps to pick off bosses. It works enormously well once you've mastered the technique. Right up to using it against Sigma in the finale levels of the first 3 games at least. (The mechanics of it became ass when X4 and up reworked the physics and timings.)

Didn't read the thread but if you map dash to the right trigger on the SNES the game controls become silk. Its right in the default options menu. You will spread the game like paper.
