>>717400568the mobile version has different assets that are drastically lower quality than the console and PC versions. decompressing the full quality assets on the fly is extremely CPU intensive and the PS4 struggles badly with it, having very long load times even on a PS4 pro with an SSD. the game would probably run more serviceably if they used mobile quality assets on PS4, but that would look so obviously poor that they think it's better to just can the PS4 version. it's also more than likely they're discontinuing the PS4 version so they can reallocate its resources to a switch 2 version, which has comparable specs but will be supported for several more years.
