I dont care what onlywaifu says.
There are barely any instances where you died from 15 percent extra damage which you wouldnt have died otherwise.
And at some point in the game the damage is so high that you die in a few hits anyway.
Plus if youre good you wont get hit a lot anyway.

lmao, you can just easily test it by getting hit with and without it and check for yourself. the difference is MASSIVE

The difference is barely there.
If you level vigor like a normal person then youre gonna be pretty much be fine.
Besides if you actzally elarnt he bosses then there is no reason to be worried anyway.

>15 percent
FLAT
it doesn't reduce your defense by 15%. Defense is measured as a % out of 100, and it reduces the number by 15. So if you have 15% defense, you have 0% with the soreseal, which is a pretty big deal

I'm not even sure if I want to use the scorpion charm on a mage, nevermind these diluted stat sprinklers that make you into paper.
The difference between losing and winning fights is being able to take one more hit, not being able to do 20 more damage.

But play however you like, ER is about cosplaying as a character, not about being optimal with your build.

Up until like 40 vigor the vigor boost alone counteracts the damage negation loss. After that, your stats will be so high there are probably better choices anyway

Eh.
It gives 10 for both offensive stats and allows you to equip heavier armor.
There isnt a talisman giving as many plusses as that does.

It's good for int, faith or arcane builds that use melee weapons, since it lets you go 30/20 vig/end by around level 70 while still having 40-50 in your main mental stat. Good in general too though, since the extra health and defense pretty much counteracts the increased damage taken early on.

defence has always been a meme in souls, even the devs know this, since one of the first rings you get in Dark souls 1, for beating a black knight (which to be fair for a first timer is a pretty big challenge in that corridor, unless you figured out some cheese, basically 0 newfags parry so y'know) is a ring that boosts defence when you are low on HP, one of the most blatant, clear examples of trolling the player
and yet, when you go watch some old mid 2000s playthroughs, basically everyone new had that ring equipped.
Demons souls had something similar too, but even further than that, Eternal ring, kingsfield and shadow tower all did this shit too

wasnt until later on that defence actually made an impact but that is really only working for chip damage and weak mob attacks, bosses still 1-2 shot you unless you stack defence massively
Id say elden ring was a little more noticeable, I fucked around testing it a bit and sure enough, having like 50 more defence does basically double your HP and Id say its worth not neglecting entirely when HP upgrades start to drop off. I played a cloth wearing rogue, dagger and buckler build and the stone talisman made a clear fucking difference in damage taken.

Wearing this talisman results in waaaay more than 15% more damage, at least on light armor builds. then again I only ever went to level 30HP because im not a cheating pussy.

>Its not.
it is, though. Stop being gay.
>The damage increase is pretty small.
only if you are a cowardly defence stacker.
if you are a light or even medium build with minimal defence already, this shit can easily double your damage taken.
I barely get over 20 defence in my build, for the light rolls, and the difference was massive. If I pushed up to medium rolls and took the defence instead, then the difference in damage was still big but more manageable - so you must be sitting at fucking 50%+ defence to be saying this, like a pussy.
Similarly the dragonstone talisman that gives you defence in the same way makes a fucking huuuuge difference on my character, like reducing it by a whole third or more.

>>717410058
>>717410405
im not a HP boosting pussy but yes, if you want more survivability HP > Defence, until HP scaling kicks in and suddenly defence matters more, probably around 40 VIG is the cutoff but ive not tested that. At some point effective HP is going to be better invested through defence.

Right. Using intended game mechanics is "cowardly". Wearing pieces of armour that you find everywhere, that the game clearly wants you to wear, that the developers put so much time and effort into? Cowardly!

On my first playthrough and I've had this equipped as soon as I got it. I'll swap the other one out from time to time (usually just go for the one that gives health on crits), but Radagon's Soreseal is just too good of a boon to pass up. I'm pretty sure the boost in vitality more than makes up for the extra damage.

What's the deal with this guy? Is he some PvP guru? I once encountered him ganking in Caelid as a level 300 password phantom with the world's most AIDS build (blood-infused halberd off-stoc). I have no idea what he was doing.

There's nothing wrong with using the soreseal up to 40 VIG, but ideally you should ditch it at that point. It gives you a lot of flexibility to do hybrid builds at lower levels.

Attributes are primarily best for getting the requirements to equip shit. This is amazing early on but once you hit a high enough SL where levels start giving less damage per point, it becomes extremely pointless. You hit a high SL naturally by playing elden ring because of all of the optional content

it's an amazing item if you rush for it early because enemy damage isn't very high then, but because of scaling enemy damage it becomes rather dangerous starting from the ice wasteland place + DLC
The problem is FROM's retarded artificial difficulty and scaling, unless you're getting literally 90%+ Negation enemies still hit like a truck in the late game + DLC areas, so that Seal will destroy you
Anyways, it's very easy to reach absurd Negation thanks to shit like Endure alone which you get 5m in and moggs literally every other AoW in the whole game + DLC
