The story has the right amount of memes and edginess while also being kinda endearing at parts. It's not for everyone, but a lot of people who like RPG Maker horror games like it. If you get it, you get it. I don't think it's about low standards. The game has a lot of effort put into it. It also has very nice art and a banger soundtrack with free music.
