>is a nearly perfect 10/10 ending
>gets ruined last second because kojima has a fetish for big boss
From the beginning MGS4 had set up that Snake was going to die. He had no place in the world and by taking his life he spares himself from both a painful death and seeing the deaths of his loved ones. Snake spent nearly all his life doing good and fighting for others and so his final act would be the ultimate form of sacrifice. A somewhat defeatist end to a legendary hero but thatโs exactly what makes the act so powerful. Snakeโs suicide is a moment of genuine vulnerability, a reminder to the audience that he has always been just another man. In a sense, Snake reaches an enlightenment that neither Raiden or Big Boss do at the end of their respective games. And it gets ruined because Kojima wanted a word vomit exposition dump
