It's like an offline MMORPG, and that's not a compliment. It also nearly bankrupted the state of Rhode Island. Quite a feat, I must say.

I got through the intro walked 5 steps outside, talked to some keebler elves then never touched it again.
I feel like I should give it more time but then I also feel like I've seen everything the game has to offer already.

Yes, it does. Just either play original or play remaster (less bugs including memory leaks, slightly less bloom) without new addon.
Remaster has been made by germans - through bugfixing, complete misunderstanding of the mythical dream atmosphere - thankfully only slightly less artistically useful bloom. New german addon, however, is an atrocity, a blasphemy, a sin against the original game. Modern office clerk language (in a fairy tale!), bleak locations, shitting on the protagonist and the plot of the original, bad mechanics, mandatory new damage type and many lesser things. Don't go for the new addon.

I bought it when I was a tf2 player for the helmet cosmetic and later played it to see if it was good.
I liked it so much I played it twice, but no one who I get to play it likes it so I think it's niche soul for me specifically.
It does also have bikini armor so it's kinda based

I 100%'d the game and DLC, it took 3 digit hours, and I would struggle to tell you most of what happens in the game. It's a very thin and shallow experience.
No, not a soulful game, but if they had stuck to their guns on fleshing out a couple of ideas instead of doing bad attempts at 30 different games smashed together it could've been idk.

Are there any classes to avoid? I remember playing a magic/agility character because they get a cool blink dodge and getting my shit pushed in. It might have just been me not knowing wtf I'm doing tho.

I found magic's flat damage skills fall off hard, but some people swear by it idk. I played on hard and magic skills sucked and the blink wasn't good even if it was cool.
If you just want to blitz through the game, stack smithing armour attack bonus buffs. Which I remember being tied to a particular weight class that's not heavy.

Any build is powerful but the game is harder then it seems. You do have to focus up and not get hit while also putting out as much damage as possible.
But I only played maybe 50% of the game.

I'd say, too much. It was hard for me to keep track of the quests since every other word they used was new, made for this game only.
It makes it even worse if you put the game down and try to find back later

It felt soulless when I played it on release. But cant actually remember If it was bad or I was just not giving it a fair try.

This is the correct answer. The game has a handful of good ideas, but they're all fucking mired in the worst of what WoW has to offer. It does play like an offline MMO, and not a particularly good one.

There's nothing polished about this piece of shit, it's a laughably archaic game that is also somehow still extremely buggy with several gamebreaking bugs including the old chest bug from release and pic related where NPCs completely bug out and become uninteractable and force a restart, they didn't even fix the notorious dungeon crash bug in the first DLC.
