I hate to say this, but I think the new composer on Bloodlines 2 sounds better than the old composer.

I think it's really nice of Paradox and the new audio team to agree to use some of Schaffer's material to honor him and his work. But listening to the material, it doesn't vibe the way the Bloodlines 1 music did. It's very... forgettable, and I feel shocked to admit that because VTMB1's music is so good. In contrast the stuff the new composer has done is really ear-wormy. It's moody, vibrant, melodic, really diving into that morose existential dread of being a vampire.

I don't know about better, though I like the stuff released so far, but the main issue, more than whether it's good, is whether it's going to be /fitting/ for the game.
Probably so for the game TCR is making. A muche harder sale for the one people are expecting.
