No matter what game I play, I have always been shit at aiming. I have played many FPS and shooters in general and I genuinely enjoy them but I have always been shit at aiming. So I usually end up leveraging some other aspect of the game to get my edge. Example, in CS2 I am shit at aiming so I learned many of the grenade spots and angles. In Marvel Rivals, I normally play vanguard which requires less aim etc. I am just tired of being shit at aiming but I don't even know where to begin to unfuck it. I know many games are different in how the aim behaves but what are some baseline principles that sort of translate to different games no matter what? Like when it comes to sensitivity, how do you find that sweet sensitivity for yourself? Does it depend on game? probably.

Name 10 shooters that you have played and I may give a valuable answer, or I will say nothing at all.
If there are more than 10, try to list those you have the most time in.

Buy kobaaks aim trainer, or aimpabs if you are poor
Watch viscoseoce on YouTube for instructionals and tips
Aim practice for 1-2 hours daily, target your weaknesses specifically and use training regimens
Don't fall for the specific DPI or specific sensitivity meme, some players will tell you to never ever change your sensitivity or else you will break your muscle memory, this is not true, muscle memory does not work like laymen think it does
My advice would be to practice on multiple DPIs and sensitivities, high sensitivity precision tasks are extremely taxing for your fine motor control just like low DPI target switching is extremely taxing for your arm and hand, utilize both and push your aim outside it's comfort zone, for CS, recommended eDPI is between 600-1200

You need to identify the skills you are bad at.
Target tracking. Flicking. Holding angles. Reaction time. Recoil control.
For example you're holding an angle in a cs game. Where is your crosshair? Are you aiming at head level? Is your crosshair far enough from the actual angle so that if an enemy peaks you then you can react in time to repositioning it?
Now you're playing T and pushing a site. Are you "slicing" the area when clearing angle so that you have enough reaction time to shoot someones if they are here? Is your counter strafe game on point so that you don't miss if you're moving and need to shoot? Do you actually know all the common angle that people play? Do you have prior knowledge to where the guys would be based on past rounds?
Thankfully in CS you don't need skills like having to keep your crosshair on target like a lasergun or worry about projectile style aiming but there's just as many in-depth aiming technique that you need to be aware off.
It's not really the game's fault but in every games you play you need to be able to look at the type of aiming that's required of you and work on them, and if that's what asked of you (for example you don't like 1-hit kill twitch instagib gamemode) then you play something else.

Just do what every other faggot does and sit in one spot and don't move like a giant pussy.
It's way easier to aim if you don't have to focus on moving.

play on a computer. aiming with a controller sucks (but it's better for movement)

The top shooters I play right now are CS2, marvel rivals and Quake Champions. I don't have many others that I play currently multiplayer wise.

honestly watching viscose is the best advice you could get, she has more information and learning material regarding everything aim related than you will get from almost anywhere else, it's a great starting point if you feel lost as to how to improve, but aside from that, use aim trainers and be consistent about practice

Ah I see. Thanks for the info. I think in general I am very very bad at being precise. Like in CS2 I notice when trying to aim at a enemy, I will sometimes pass over the target when moving the crosshair with my mouse. Then I have to recorrect and I am usually dead by that point because I took too long. Spray control in that game is another issue for me but thats mechanical I guess.

low mouse sensitivity, gotta make a huge sweeping move across the mousepad to do a 180 spin
keep your crosshair at headshot level at all times, don't aim down at torso or legs
stick your crosshair to the edge of environment when turning a corner, so if an enemy is there your crosshair is instantly on their head
pre-fire common spots
you shot at enemy and didn't kill him? don't peek again, fall back to a new position and make sure you can hide behind cover instantly
do all of this and you will get out of silver in no time
this is just counter strike stuff btw apex is gay shit for dumb niggers

i was really really good at aiming at cs, and kinda bad in over watch / rivals. aiming in a slow game like cs vs a fast game with different sized hit boxes like rivals doesnt exactly translate well. all you gotta do is just keep playing. i was shit at cs but 350 hours later i was always top fragging and 1v4ing with an awp.

>How do I improve aim
Learn to focus your crosshair with intention. Focus your eyes on the center of ur screen whilst simultaneously taking everything into consideration

In tactical shooters, a lot of 'aim' comes from the third eye. Utilising sound cues, call outs, common angles, deductions and movement will help secure easier kills but not in the sense of 'raw aim'.

For improving raw aim you need to practice aim drills and spam deathmatch. Play death match with the goal of getting as high as KD and HS % as possible.

I think doing over 30-60 mins of aim trainer is overkill but to each their own. As long as there is immersion and deliberation, then it will be quality practice.

I tend to play with low sensitivity. Having the sights swing around the screen too fast makes it harder for me to aim up/down. Sure I get fucked reacting to someone attacking from behind. but 9/10 if someones behind you you're fucked either way.
To add some advice, something universal in most FPS (even some TPS) games is strafing to adjust aim rather than moving your sights. This keeps your aim steady and at the right height so if they try to juke they'll just move into your crosshair. It also means you're not standing still to do a minor aim adjustment.
Of course with movement penalty like in CS this can make you miss until you get the hang of movement cancelling.

make sure your PC is set up correctly for latency. most noobs forget to do this. your aiming skills are irrelevent if your click to photon is behind.

first of all, it depends on your machine. need full list of specs including OS and drivers.

second, you can youtube more information about this stuff. nvidia reflex/antilag2 are more important than ever and every major competitive game supports these or can be injected via optiscaler.
