>>717481782 (OP)The actual answer is that back in the 70s when psychic and ayy lmaos and all that /x/ shit was super popular in Japan translations of foreign stuff were pretty limited due to the distance and language barrier, so the stories and info they got there was filtered and a lot of the same stories recycled. This story of the Flatwoods Monster was one of those few stories that managed to get in those early translations, and its unqiue appearance helped it to stick out.

LINED UP
YOU'RE MY LITTLE BUTTERFLIES
When I was a really young kid back in the early 2000's visiting my relatives in Brazil, I was forced to spend quite a while in the backwater in the south of the country, I saw some really bizarre shit down there, constant weird lights in the sky making movements that make no sense, weird noises in the forest made by something too big to be a cow, a deer or something like that, occasionally big sections of the fields would just have weird clearings were all the plants died, like something landed there. But that's just the shit that I wasn't so sure, nearing my last days visiting my relatives and when they were busy cleaning the barn, I went for a walk near the forest, for all of 4 minutes I wandered in, it was clear, there was a dirt road and everything, when I turned a small corner near an eucalyptus, I saw the weirdest shit imaginable, it looked like a massive caterpillar, with a massive bulbous eyes and it was clearly distressed from seeing me, not like a bug would be distressed, but like something that knew it shouldn't have been spotted or seen, it was sentient, it started turning on all directions squirming from the dead tree it was perched on. I just stared at it for a good 15 seconds out of sheer bewilderment, not having a singular fucking clue what I was looking at, I started screaming, really fucking loud begging for my grandma and aunt to come see whatever the fuck this was, when I turned my back to start running I just feel like this horrible gust of wind from behind me, I ran and ran until I found my folks, I eventually convinced them to go near the spot where I saw the damned thing, no sign of it, though there were some weird marks left on the bark of the dead tree it was in.
Obviously nobody fucking believed me when I went back home, sometimes I almost forget it happened, it was in 2003 I think, I was still a small 7 year old, I think I should be way more scared of whatever I saw, but it looked kinda pathetic and desperate, it didn't do anything to me.
