Some places suck but in a good way, like Valley of Defilement, Tomb of the Giants, that one boss arena in the Caelid Swamps, these places suck good because they reward long-term caution by making short-term reactions easier to get away with (i.e., health regen in the swamp, playing with what land you have available, taking it slow enough to see the dogs and doing a jump attack)
Meanwhile other places just suck for reasons being Batman prepared won't fix
