It's not that obscure being a sequel to one of the best selling games of the year 7th Guest.
The puzzles in that sequel are more vexing than in the first game. But both play still really good with the only downside being the time you have to wait when you rotate the camera in the mansion.
Stauff is an excellent antagonist, the character is punchable and funny at the same time with his constant mockery of player actions.

Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder is a game definitely worth checking out if you aren't scared by point'n'click games. It's truly is a game the most resembling Lovecraft's story meaning it's a slowburner and you don't get to see scares often, but instead the atmosphere and the mystery keep you going.

Actually went into this a while back since I liked the aesthetic. There are currently four builds out there for download with one of them being corrupted (and maybe repaired by now?) It seemed like it was going to focus a lot on choices and heavy on narrative with the gameplay taking a lot after Alone in the Dark since the director actually was the creator of that series. Got canned the same year SEGA announced the Dreamcast would be discontinued since it was a SEGA of Europe studio working on it.
