Every indie 2D action game and platformer looks so stupid. Are any of them worth my time or should I just boot up my SNES again?

I recently nuked every game on my wishlist because it was just full of vaporware that's literally never going to see the light of day.

I've been waiting for Dad By The Sword for YEARS. It's time to let go.

Only reason I care is because its being made by john dead cells and I really like how that game feels to play. Quite possibly had one of the worst reveals for a game ever though, transitioning from that beautiful animation to pixel slop was devastating. Regardless I think it'll be good.
I'm also really looking forward to two games that are so vaporous that they still don't have titles yet.

Oh boy I just love Metroidvania roguelikes with Soulslike elements and Earthbound influence with no difficulty because gameplay gets in the way of the queer allegory or how mommy not taking you Disney World gave you crippling anxiety issues or something all set to music that sounds like a fat Mexican taking a shit after being forcefed bean burritos.

I was getting annoyed that Mina was taking so long despite the game looking pretty near finished back when they first revealed it. But oh man I was not expecting the game to be as bad as it was.

Silksong, Dead Red Hood, Underrail: Infusion. That's about it really. Maybe Menace, but no gameplay being shown is concerning.
I also have a fuckton of indie games on my Steam wishlist, might pick up a few of them on a whim.

Same here, anon. It came out of nowhere for me but ended up being one of those rare indies that actually felt polished and unique. If they can keep up the momentum and not bloat it with unnecessary crap or "roguelike elements," Chapter 2 could be something special. Just praying the devs don't vanish into the aether like 90% of promising indie devs do after one hit.

I just finished Laika. It was pretty fun, a 2D motorbike metroidvania was a novel and interesting concept.
Sad fucking ending god damn, even if it felt a bit rushed. She and her family deserves better.
Sad game in general to be honest, but strangely bittersweet. So much death but they keep trucking.
I don't know what to feel right now.

Nuclear Option is super fun. It's all I've been playing the last month really.

Eh, not many. I'm mostly look forward to some of the immersive sims coming up that are allowing the stealth options to their games. And i don't know how to describe games like Styx blades of Greed or Exekiller, since those look more AA budget production levels or something.
