Did Sekiro deserve more sales, awards and praise than DMC5?

>First game that innovated parrying mechanics and make it its whole selling point
>vs.
>Tried and tested formula
There is no other game like Sekiro before it. DMC5 is just a 'better' iteration of its previous title.

You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

DMC3 had already done the universal parry mechanic in 2005, and much implemented it much more elegantly since it didn't need to introduce an entire second bar for both you and the enemy and shit like multiple lives and finisher attacks; it simply let you parry everything whenever and counter everything whenever you please. By itself Royalguard could've carried a whole but in DMC3 it was just one part of many.

There's also no game like DMC5 out there. There's no game with mechanics like Bringer Knuckle, Sword Formations, Quadruple S, or V's type of gameplay. There's no game out there where just one character out of four lets you use any of 200~ abilities at any point and basically all of them are viable if you know how to use them. There's no game where you get weapons like King Cerberus with its three different forms you can use freely, the Faust hat, or a weapon like Cavaliere; same thing with Nero's Devil Breakers, which might be the best implementation of depletable weapons in videogames.

All the while Sekiro doesn't even let you switch between combat arts without pausing. Pathetic.

Isshin is a much better final boss than Vergil.
Last impressions are very important.

It also helps when the enemies actually fight back. Something DMCfags know nothing about.

Isshin also isn't in a game where the player is encouraged to nuke him with the p2w weapon, which makes him better by default.

Don't get me wrong I like Sekiro but presenting it as some sort of innovative title is completely ridiculous. At its core posture is just a more streamlined form of the stamina system that already existed in previous Souls titles. And what's worse Nioh had already massively spun that system around years before Sekiro came out.

The way FromSoft gimped all your tools except deflects just shows how little confidence they have in delivering a memorable experience without having the player go through these epic protracted duels where you just can't go and kill the enemy if you know what to do. It specially falls apart with the upper ends regular enemies, which are completely impossible to fight in groups but will regularly be used in that capacity. Meanwhile many of the weaker ones aren't just complete push overs but they lack any kind of interesting features at all.

The world design only exacerbates this as enemy types are generally limited to specific areas, meaning you'll be fighting the same type of enemy over and over again in an area, only to then never do anything with them ever again; add to this that there's basically no crowd control and it's just monotonous.

There's substance there but FromSoft doesn't know how to use it.

>less enemy variety is good
Shut up.

You're deluded. Isshin isn't even the best boss in the game (Owl).

You have to to understand that making these same posts for over half a decade doesn't have whatever effect you think it does, it just makes you seem mentally ill.
