What am I in for bros? This is my third metroidvania game after "Guacamelee" and "Hollow Knight".

If you not complete SOTN and Super Metroid, like priveus anon says, you don't play metroidvania at all

it's good, though it gets really easy if you try and max out your shards because it's super grindy

Fun, I guess. But also lots of very obvious kickstarter rooms, items and enemies.

Start on hard mode use the NIGHTMARE code when making your save. Other guys right its way too easy otherwise.
It's the best Igavania mechanically but looks like a CG-generated game unfortunately

don't listen to those posers, you have to start with Metroid 1 (not the Zero Mission remake) and Castlevania 1

You need to kill the fish to learn how to swim, this is intended progression.

Bloodstained exists because modern castlevania sucks ungodly amount of ass, so artplay made this game as a middle finger to konami. why would you crave to play "we got castlevania at home" when you can have perfectly good symphony of the night first?

Nah, you should always start a new metroidvania on normal. Higher difficulties are good for the repeat playthroughs when you're familiar with the game. Also nightmare is just hard, but you can't level up.

Bloodstained's normal mode is just braindead. On hard you have to engage with the systems the game offers you and actually think about positioning and read movesets.
I beat it on hard after OoE's normal and they were of similar difficulty (just right). AoS/DoS/PoR etc I died maybe once on each game and I'm not good.

it's not so bad but it's VERY easy, i strongly recommend watching something on the side or it could get boring real quick

The thing is that dying in igavania feels very annoying, because you lose a lot of progress, it's not like dark souls where you'll keep all your newfound items. It's more similar to dungeon crawlers but with a big difference in that you can't chose to not engage with the dangerous enemies and every enemy becames dangerous and can straight up two-touch you. So the medusa head rooms become infuriating.
In case of bloodstained, you can outbullshit pretty much anything on nightmare, yes. But you still need to know what type of bullshit you can do and strive for it, so I wouldn't recommend nightmare for your first playthrough. And hard is actually hard only up to the Zantetsu fight, and then it becomes pretty much on par with normal.

It's good. The game really gave me a bad first impression of it but after a few hours I started to enjoy it.

What the hell is "modern castlevania"? The last game in the series was from 2014.

SotN is excellent but I never thought Super Metroid was very good. It's too floaty, doesn't have teleports, and relies too heavily on bombing random spots to progress. Also it permanently locks you into the final area preventing you form exploring to find stuff you missed.
