You can answer basically any "why is this gameplay thing designed this way" question with a very simple "because Harvest Moon did it". My actual grievance with festivals (and very related to what I just said) is that going to the Flower Dance on Y1 is fucking useless if you're not speedrunning Haley or just really like festival dialogue and/or outfits. It desperately needs some kind big ticket item like strawberries or at the very least a sick unique item like the based Straw Hat especially since a full day of work in the early game feels much more important.

I've been thinking of picking up Stardew Valley again, since i've never done Ginger Island. I've played it a lot, completed the Community Center in 1 year a few times back when that was the challenge for most. How hard/long is it to 100% Stardew Valley now?

Also, anybody played Sun Haven or Fields of Mistria?
