I just started but I’m loving it so far. Already hit a bugged quest though as the game froze right after beating the drunken oaf hitting on Theresa after we danced, so had to do it again. But otherwise, it’s been fun.

how do I fix this so I can actually enjoy these kinds of games? this isn't a problem solely with bf6 btw, this happens whenever I try to play any pvp fps game. I can at most play one match before I quit, then repeat the process with another pvp fps a month later.

I know it's a beta, but it feels downright clumsy at times. Enemies you shoot take forever to go down, enemies that shoot YOU kill you within half a second. Animations feel really stiff and stilted too. I have good frames and top-tier ping, so it must be something to do with the communication between client and server.

Snipers have a sweet spot mechanic in which they will do 100 damage to the upper torso if you're shooting someone at the sweet spot distance, and the distance depends on the rifle. If you pull up the sniper in the firing range and shoot the furthest target in the upper chest it usually does 100 damage so the sweet spot is probably somewhere between 75-100m. They introduced this mechanic back in BF1 and is a large reason why I enjoy sniping a lot in that game.

It worked better in BF1 because it was encouraging the use of Infantry Rifles with iron sights. They had the particular advantage of mobility, with faster sighting and the ability to cycle the bolt while ADSing.
BF6 instead fucked this by making the ability to cycle while zoomed a fucking unlockable attachment, rather than making it dependant on low-magnification sights.

Gameplay is very obviously lifted from MW19 ground war. It barely has any resemblance to previous Battlefield games other than the classes.

They copied it well though. COD is so dire in 2025, they might actually kill it. The COD devs seem scared, they just made MW22 and MW3 free to download on PSN to try to derail the momentum of the open beta (not working kek).

The classes are kinda retarded.
Engi and Recon are fine but Assault is deciding not to play Battlefield but still being allowed in the match and Support (it's not Support Support it's Support because it's both of the supporting roles, get it! LMAO) is really strong but also feels really, really lame for some reason I can't properly explain. I think it's because Assault, Engi, and Recon can all lean back on some established rooty tooty shooty guy archetype but Support is a wizard guy casting AOE buffing spells on his teammates and also he has a gun for some reason.

I'm having a lot of fun in the 8v8 game modes. Conquest is miserable for me. I liked Conquest in BC2 and BF3. I can't pinpoint why I'm not enjoying it.

The main menu is absolute ass and that tells me a lot about the game and who it's designed for. Huge amounts of wasted space so they could slam the actually relevant portion into a FUCKING HORIZONTAL SCROLL SECTION that you have to click on-screen left and right arrow buttons to advance.
Not a shred of thought put into how shitty it would be to navigate with a mouse. Abysmal design, 0/10.

Almost every mainstream multiplayer shooter has extreme levels of damage falloff. Battlefield, call of duty, team fortress 2. It doesnt really make sense for anything other than in this specific case, as a way to nerf snipers
