Nobody is going to buy a game if they can't run it on their computer. Yeah there's PS5 and Xbox ports, but after World? Not many people are settling for those console versions, the bulk of the MH players are now on PC.
So now you have this new game that has to exist in the same market space as the previous two MH games, both of which are cheaper, have all of their content available, run just fine even with yesteryear PC hardware, and will last you a gorillion hours because of how jam-packed World and Rise are compared to Wilds right now.
