When did we let video games forget to be unique?
When did we allow devs to lose their creativity?
Why did we accept the status quo?

I got the demo for perimeter in a cd with a gaming magazine, played the shit out of it.
bought it on steam as an adult and haven't touched it.
I remember it being fun and so different from like red alert and shit I was used to.

they took what was common at the time in RTS, and thought about how to do something new or creative with it

terrain deformation and sculping along with an on the fly army morphing mechanic were creative ideas that we just dont see today, today its the same genres with the same mechanics with ironically worse balancing.

Shame perimeter 2 was dogwater but then it was a new developer.
im glad some russian autist got the game modernised on steam for modern systems.

it also made offensive turtling a star strat from memory.
I have no idea how popular it was, but I remember it having a feature in that magazine so must have had a half decent publisher.
