Ys Origin, kind of. Two of the three scenarios are technically side-stories and not canon and the protagonists of those scenarios are only side-characters in the third scenario that's actually the canon one.

Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. The game contrives ways to split you up on missions, but as far as the story is concerned Munro is just a member of the team and you spend the entire game receiving orders from Tuvok and other high-ranking officers.

Do nothing but small game related task
>Visit planet of Ice covered with simple task of deactivating Stelleron
Get dragged around until you reached the leader, get stabbed. Fight the leader again with giant robot help. The world is even more economical worse. Obtain nothing to help the train. Somehow you’re the heros.

They don’t need your help, they done this a millions of times. You do nothing in helping them.

Do nothing for 5 months in real world. You’re the bad guy says the bad guy. Everyone tag team the bad guy. Leave with the bad guy.

Herta's is all about getting YOU out of there and ends with YOU going on your journey.
Belobog kinda treads snow with Bronya and Seele but it has a perfect climax with you getting to do cool shit and feel like a badass.
The rest is all true, unfortunately. There is nothing in space china that requires your character but at least they had the foresight to put most of Dan Hang's stuff in optional missions.
Penacony was fine while you were investigating dream crimes and having cute dates with Firefly but every time the story shifted to Aventurine or Acheron I wanted to die. Even getting the new power felt kinda limp.
That's as far as I got anyway, I'm sure things will get even worse.
