Only one correct answer and it's Diablo II: LoD. Still untouched in atmosphere, pacing, loot dopamine and actually rewarding skill-based builds instead of flavor-of-the-month rinse repeats. You weren't there in '01 when finding a Shako in a Baal run meant something. Anything post-2010 just tries too hard to be "dark" or slams you with so much mechanical bloat it forgets to be fun.

It's an ARPG. Yes you grind.
It has better graphics/animations than any other ARPG on the market, but it is still in development. It is not even remotely finished. PoE1 is currently a better game with much more content but PoE2 is the future when they get their heads out of their asses and fix it up.

You can only buy storage tabs with real money and you really need them. Everything else is just cosmetics. Poe2 is currently available in paid early access but when you buy it, you will receive cash shop currency equal to the purchase price in addition to access.
So yes, you'll probably spend the full price of the game on poe at one point if you play it. At least the tabs are shared between poe1 and 2.
