Does it still holds up?

My coworker, who has a 1080ti, was arguing with another coworker on if the 2070 was better. What do you guys think? Nowdays I am pretty torn because the 2070's within 10% of the 1080ti or even with it

The 1080 plays most of the games I want to play at 1440p and the 1080 ti is even better so probably. They literally have to stop giving it updates to try to kill it and it's not gonna matter because nvidia updates are garbage these days. We'll never see GPU's as good as the 1000 series ever again, it feels like they were a mistake.

Yeah, it still holds up if you’re not a frame-chasing maniac. 1080 Ti in particular is still a beast at 1440p, and unless you're trying to max out some poorly optimized RTX showcase garbage, it's fine. The only real reason to upgrade is if you want raytracing or DLSS 3 voodoo, but even then, most new cards throttle themselves into a coma anyway.

I think you had to buy at least 2080ti / super (don't remember if it exists)

Nowadays if you can get 20 series for cheap I would say it's better than 10 series because of dlss and I'm pretty sure it's still supported by Nvidia.
If you can't get 20 series for cheap but can get 10 series, it still holds up very well.

It's weaker than 3060 ti and can't do DLSS or RTX stuff. No driver support anymore either. It's fine for 5+ year old games.

I was briefly thinking of buying Intel gpu for the sake of it but chose against it because of driver issues and change in my stance towards tech.
I just can't be bothered anymore.

I know trannies like you like to change stories up but I didn't buy either 1070ti nor 3070, 1070ti has custom cooling and won't fetch big price, it's simply not worth the hassle it in my eyes. I don't remember how I got it, because I went to 1080ti from rx480.
3070 was given to me for free by a friend who managed to buy decent pre built for dirty cheap but already had better GPU in mind, so he just gave it to me.
