Xbox Series X controller
Xbox Series X controller
md5: 486e450643758d425f986c2048a97e19🔍
>Xbox Series X controller for general use (really just games that need two sticks and all the buttons)
>Nintendo 64 controller (tight joystick, lubricated with silicone grease) with a Mayflash adapter for N64 games (mainly F-Zero X and SM64 hacks)
>8bitdo M30 for 2D gaming especially Genesis games/fighting games/non-fighting games with motion inputs like SOTN
My Xbox controller has lasted surprisingly long but I've had to open it up and replace parts a few times. Starting to use the N64 controller more often also made me realize how shitty modern analog sticks are.

I really like the tantalizing way that it sits there in its dock, tempting me to pick it up and play

>Wiimote+nunchuk and the Monster Hunter 3 controller
>A couple Dualshock 2s and at least three Dualshock 1s
>3 Gamecube controllers, all first party
>Two of the smaller Xbox controllers
>Two SNES pads, two N64 controllers, two Genesis controllers

Far too many.
But if I count only ones I use on PC, that would be
8bitdo Ultimate 2 for general use. Love me some dock.
I still keep Razer Raiju because of its absolute perfect shape and size, but retarded cable and protocol makes me grab 8bitdo more often.
I do have Retrofighters N64 and Dreamcast controllers that can be used with PC, but prefer original hardware if I get an itch to play some.

Are third party controllers really worth it just for the hall effect or TMR sticks? I don't want something that breaks after just a few years.

>cyclone 2
Looked it up a while ago, but I don't get why the face buttons use microswitches but the bumpers don't. I just want all the buttons to feel the same.

Why are people so obsessed with controllers? Every day there are numerous threads about them and then you have these super expensive elite pro controllers that companies realized they can overcharge the nerds for. What am I missing here? I never really overthought about them until I have seen how obsessive anons get about them on here. Usually the basic controller that comes with the console always worked for me.

I own 2 SeX controllers, one for general use and an old one with a broken shoulder button I use occasionally (mainly for racing games)

Its noticeable though. Most of these controllers have the same general design we have had since even the SNES and PS1 days. So I do not get why we need hundreds of different designs by dozens of different companies. If we got wacky designs like back in the days that would be one thing and actually interesting but this isn't the case with gaming today.

To a lesser extent it seems similar with all of these handhelds/chinkhelds. Way too many of them with such similar forms. It all feels too oversaturated and not needed.

Do you know why some cars cost a couple of dozen grands, and some close a million? They all get you from point A to point B.
Do you know why you can get a TV for a hundo in Walmart, but also can get one that you need a second mortgage for? They all show you a series of moving pictures.
Why there's a price difference between Costco "whatever was left of the cow" steak and Wagyu beef? It's a piece of meat after all.

For me it's less about getting the best "elite gamer controller" from a mechanical standpoint and more about getting usb compatible controllers that are made to feel like oem retro controllers. Playing snes platformers on Xbox controllers or dualsense feels awful.

There is so much shit and nuance in what makes a good controller so no wonder there is 9 million threads about them. I just check these out because I'm in the market for a new one.

Well chinkhelds are an entirely different beast. Chink companies have zero idea what customers want, they just throw darts at a dartboard and pick a random combo until one works. There are so many handhelds with bizarre layouts that nobody bought for obvious reasons. Just look at anbernic, they've made a few decent "clones" they made due to a gap in the market, but the vast majority of their saturated catalogue is just random bullshit that nobody with a brain bought.

I have a controller for every console I have, and these days when I play games on pc I will use the "corresponding" controller or the one I feel that's corresponding.
Ps2 controller, dualshock 3, dualshock 4, dualsense, regular xbox controller.
I don't even have an xbox but my autism that demands that I play with the correct controller got called out when I was playing Halo with a dualshock 3 so my fren bought an xbox controller for me.

I have a few spare ds4's but only one ds3 so when that one breaks down I'll be royally fucked.
