Undertale had the most impact on the gaming industry compared to all the other games from 2015. It was the freshest game that we got that year and thus why I consider it my GOTY. I didnt play Witcher 3 yet, so maybe it might change.

how so, other than that it's just popular? all it spawned is a bunch of amateur fangames and subpar indies. goty doesn't necessarily mean 'the most impactful', but either way it fails on both fronts
