But I played Avowed and it was fun.

Wokeness in every corner.
Every new planet you travel is the same. Some evil white men CEO wants you to help his company ruin the planet. As you walk out the building some black female underdog will ask you to instead help her on tearing down the patriarchy.
Literally all quests is like that. No joke. White men CEO bad, underdog black women good. At this point its not even about wokeness anymore. It just gets boring real fast.

cool setting, shit characters, bland story (but the dlcs are better at least), middling gameplay, loot everywhere means resources mean nothing, you won't run out of ammo

Someone explain to me how it can be possible that the first game apparently sold 4 million copies, something straight from Take-Two's, yet it is barely talked about in the CRPG circles after the first week of launch? You would think a game of this level of success should have a certain amount of impact in mindshare and people in /v/ should be talking about the game more often, yet it's crickets.

enemies turn away and regen health if they have to run 15 meters or so.

back then we still had a bit of faith in people and the advertisement of "the og fallout devs worked on this" worked.
this was back when there was still some semblance in faith in Bethesda.
This was back when people were hopeful for fallout 76 coming out.
This was back before we really understood how SHIT obsidian entertainment had become.
To us these were the guys who made fallout new vegas.

I gave it an honest chance and played through the entire game. I dont remember a single thing except for the ending being abrupt when i thought i was only halfway through.
Its so bland nothing stands out or is memorable.

Its a typical MS published title. Its alright but nothing that pushes it beyond alright/good.
There is some fun to be had and everything works, but its not something you will look back on in a few years time.
