This game has been out for days now and I haven't heard anything about it.

Does it suck? Is it good?

The funny thing is that the game is, on paper, literally everything that /v/ asks for in a game
>Cool, new setting for a video game
>White, straight male protagonist
>Cute and wholesome love interest
>Traditional crime story with no Whedon quips or Millennial writing, the game takes itself 100% dead seriously at all times
>No slop open world with Ubisoft towers and a million checklist activities
>Just a pure focused experience for the player
>No multiplayer, GAAS, battle pass, FOMO or any shit like that

So why the fuck are you playing Uma Musume instead?
Anonymous No.717940664 [Report]
>>717940157
og yes
remake is decent but it feels too americanized at times. take the first mission for example. in the og you are followed by one car of bad guys and to escape you need your own driving skills to do so. in the remake you are followed by like 10 cars that each crash out one by one in a cutscenes where you break some traffic cone and the enemy car bursts into flames

Because I bought the collection on PS4 and it was shit. 1 was okay but the gameplay was ass. 2 fell apart the farther you got ahead, and 3 was just repetitive nonsense. Never playing Mafia again.

I enjoyed it. The music and vibes are top notch. ENG voice acting is great for the most part. I did try it in Sicilian afterwards but it's not mixed properly and and some of the performances are lacking. Overall a great game well worth the price I paid for it. The ending did kind of sour things though.

I liked it, not every game has to be some bloated 60 hour mess. Gameplay was OK, the story was enjoyable
Worst part is shitty unreal engine optimization

and not every game has to be 8-9 hours with a 3-4 hour tutorial before you even touch a gun in a game called MAFIA

Anonymous No.717941616 [Report]
I think the big issue with Old Country's pacing is that there should have been another section of the game before the last few chapters where Enzo actually starts to like being in the gang. Add some more gameplay stuff there like more collections, car/horse faces, bandit and other gang shootouts, etc.
Basically add a filler arc to give players a bit more of the gameplay before shit crashes down around everyone.

$50 game. 10 hours long. 5 hours are cut scenes. 5 hours of gameplay are basic bitch cover shooting with bad stealth. Not worth it. Maybe for $30.

You can't really blame them for rehashing 1 when that is exactly what the fanbase asked for.
Everyone hated when they told a genuinely new story with 3 because it was too different and not Mafia enough. Now they complain that Old Country is just more Mafia.

What the fuck do you want exactly?

You can't deny that 3 has the most "actual game" out of all the entries. The only thing that comes close is the DLC campaign for 2 that stars the bald guy and plays like GTA.

The sad thing is that what happens is not really Enzo's fault ultimately. The plan goes wrong because Isabella is an idiot who confessed the whole thing during church, to a priest with close ties and proximity to the gang that she is trying to fool. Genuine total retard moment.
Tino was suspicious of Enzo from the beginning, but he only got concrete proof and the particulars of the escape plan after he tortured the info out of the priest.

You barely play the game, just watch cutscenes after walking forward a few feet. Then it ends with a shitty forced tragedy. It's actually not worth playing.

He barely even gains much by the end. Only thing that happens is he becomes capo in a crime family he wants to leave, which is meaningless. It's why the end feels retarded since it feels like barely anything happened and then he's suddenly dead.

Also, people claim it was written with ChatGPT or some LLM and I'm inclined to believe it, because when you read the official character bios, it has LLM slop all over it.

It's alright. The story is decent enough to get immersed even though it's cliche and the performances are all decent to good. Game looks fucking great too. The problem is the samey gameplay. Basically you go from point A to B while a conversation plays, go through a mundane stealth section with nonsensical mechanics like ""Mafia vision""", and then have a janky knife fight. The gunplay actually feels decent but is barely used outside of 2 or 3 missions.
I wouldn't recommend spending 50 bucks on this game. Just watch it on YouTube if you like mafia shit. There's some cool characters and the game is pretty atmospheric if you're into that type of stuff, but it's incredibly short and most of its ~9 hour runtime is cutscenes. Fair enough if you buy it on sale for 10 bucks.

3 has you using the best gun in the game literally immediately during the tutorial, which is what Old Country should have done; a knife fight, some shooting, then
>6 months before...
or however long. /v/ cant hang because the dude in 3 is a black but in every regard except narrative/theming it plays the best in the series, although I will say that ignoring all open world components and just fast traveling to each story mission asap is the best way to play 3
Anonymous No.717949150 [Report]
Aggressively mediocre and overpriced for what it offers. Seems the audience is agreement with this. The rating is slowly going down. It's at 71% and getting closer to being mixed review.

>It's why the end feels retarded since it feels like barely anything happened and then he's suddenly dead.
Exactly! Old Country really needed something like the "let the good times roll" montage to show that time has actually passed and he has some period of success before the fall.

Enzo's fall from grace doesn't work because he barely rises in the first place.
