because the game has like fifty official modes. they were supposed to release a lite client for fortnite beginning of the year specifically because of switch but it's only coming next year. you'll be able to choose what modules you want in the game. no festival, no racing, no lego etc.

Because it's a modern video game from a third party publisher. Switch 1 shielded us from modern file sizes by being too shitty for high resolution textures, but since Switch 2 is a more powerful machine file sizes are going to go up.
