Born in 01 but me, my neighbor, and my friends all had one. We all swapped carts and got to enjoy multiplayer
Meanwhile my siblings just a few years younger grew up with 7th gen and mostly played with friends online. Kind of a shame

They still do, the marketplace just shut down. Some newer routers don't work with them though.
