There's nothing wrong with A Link to the Past's gameplay aside from a couple "that parts", and more grit means more soul.

You don't, I guess. It either clicks or it doesn't. I for one, love this shit.

do you really enjoy doing the dungeons though?
the whole game feels like needing to do one specific thing at one specific place on the map to progress

if you don't get it immediately you never will. they're games that appeal primarily to low-skill normalfags with shit taste.

gameplay in ALTTP is phenomenal

OoT gameplay kinda sucks, you just sit there and dance around enemies until there is an opening and then strike.

use your items, retard. nearly every enemy can have their defenses circumvented by something other than just staring at them.

What's shallow about it? It's very fundamental in its design. You learn enemy movesets and your attack range, spacing and positioning are very important, hazards must be carefully avoided, bosses are memorable and require unique methods to dispatch them that you must figure out. Dungeons are challenging, labyrinthine gauntlets where you need to make a mental map of how the layout connects and how to route through it while minimizing damage from enemies and hazards.

Compare that to OoT. Z-targeting removes any challenge of spacing and positioning and makes the combat just a glorified rhythm game. Every combat encounter just involves circling around the enemy, waiting for them to be open to attack, and repeat. It's just a boring, drawn-out slog. Dungeons are largely linear on-rails where you just solve the """puzzle""" by entering first person and looking around the room or jumping on some platforms. Bosses are pushovers that are just a glorified tutorial for the item you conveniently just found in that dungeon.

ALTTP 3 heart challenge is like 100x harder than OoT. OoT is just a cinematic baby game.
