the right is the best when it comes to the shape but the actuation is all that actually matters and the actuators in the disks of suck and pshit controllers are just never good. even nintendo regularly makes shit dpads these days despite inventing them.

xbox dpad is more comfortable but the separated playstation is better for GUI icons since they can be smaller (xbox has to show the whole + for you to know what button they want you to press, ps has distinct shapes)

Some chink handhelds like the Retroid Pocket 5 have it, the problem with the Vita's d-pad is that it's fucking minuscule compared to traditional floating disc style pads.

A combination of the first two is the best, something like the ps4 dpad. You want a indentation for the tip of your thumb to rest and focus on but separate buttons so that you don't make many wrong inputs.
