Craving for a gantz game is a worse mental retardation than craving for isekai anime with a cheat ability and blatant in-world jrpg mechanics. The latter at least has the understandable appeal of shameless wish fulfillment.
Gantz only used the most rudimentary mechanics as the means to drive drama and horror. The concepts are so basic and widely applicable, that there are countless games with the same skeleton, it's just they have enough meat to make them actually desirable that you have no reason to draw the comparison.

Anyway, I'd love to see some shootan copy Z-gun and the fax gun.

When they die some are forced to sign up to fight aliens with a time limit. But can continue living their normal live as long as they survive those battles. They also earn points for surviving depending on how many aliens they killed. They can unlock all kinds of highly advanced equipment, revive team members or even return to a normal life if successful enough or just continue and become stronger as long as they keep surviving.
