Original, already rare and sought after skin used stolen artwork. Skin was redone in with a similar look, barred from drops and crafts and branded with a new, ostentatious category called "Contraband" to reflect that, turning it into a very exclusive skin that can only be traded for.

>More rare thing is visually inferior and uses stolen art than the available thing, only valued by NPCs for it's rarity
Kek, that's like if some chink factory produced like 3 shitty looking offcolor deteriorating plastic toys of Sonic or something and it was more valuable than a quality toy because it's more rare

you were hoarding howls?
the only way for you to become a millionaire from this is if you had bought at least 200 factory new howls more than 10 years ago and kept them until recently.

there are gray market sites where you can list/buy items. most sales happen through escrows to preserves anonymity and ensure security. Thanks to steam mandatory 15% cut when you sell shit on the market, gray market sites can take 12% and people will still find them more attractive. Especially since you get real paypal money instead of steam 'money'

to clarify, you would have only had to buy 40 dollars worth of kato capsules in 2014 to be a millionaire today.
