I'm not Alexander... how do I git gud?
Every time I reach Lvl2 I get immediately bitchslapped into lvl1. I'm starting to get the hand of using the charged punch to juggle enemies, following up guard breaks with a kick to launch them and dash attacks but I feel like all of my attacks are in slow motion, like I'm missing some way of easily stringing attacks or canceling animations.

shit hand is a shit game, it sold 0 copies for a reason, go play a better (and more fun) game

meme game, it's not actually good but you know how /v/ loves to circlejerk everything unpopular into oblivion and back and it's always the same small handful of very loud contrarian faggots every single thread for YEARS about this game.

Are you dodging? Start using that right stick more often, and chain your dashes into slides and sweeping kicks, launches are more a desperation move for needing to create space and rearrange engagements but can really slow down the action which isn't fun in the slightest.
