It mostly works nowadays, and some old games run better on linux than windows.
But if you're really really, really picky about it, you end up in fucking hell, because half the shit you want only work well on linux and the other half on Windows.
Then the cenobites come for you because you really enjoy pain.

Most games nowadays just pre-compile the shaders and don't use the CPU as much at a point that having a better OS matters much.
But if you're using an AMD videocard, you get real gains out of linux.

i switched to bazzite gnome some 2 months ago
i prefer the desktop gui, but its basically changing windows problems to some other problems on linux.
its different OS you HAVE to learn some new things, its better than when i tried it 1yr ago, but its not ready for the masses yet.
i didn't have problem launching any games except wot which crashes on loading, steam just works, for non steam games i use bottles.
