I’ve literally never cried to a video game. I’ve gotten teary-eyed from a few movies, shows and some good music but never from a game. No clue why. The only time I came even remotely close to getting emotional from a game was the end of The Walking Dead Season 1 but that’s probably because it feels more like a tv show and not a game.

Read if you played the game.
Johnny wanted to go to the Moon because of a promise he made to River when they met as kids. Due to the death of his brother and the beta blockers he took, he completely forgot who he was and essentially lived his brother's life. River clung onto their original meeting their entire life, and in the end, Eva moves River and rewrites Johnny's life so he can fulfill his promise. River still shows up later though, but most of Johnny's life is rewritten to make that so.
This entire scene is my favorite song and scene from any piece of media. I don't think I can say anything bad about it.

It was ported to Unity and its Serenity Forge, that's why its so big. I just play the originals since they look and play better (use the older builds for proper font).
>>720096995
Also to add, if you think To The Moon was devastating, play the other games in the series (A Bird Story, Finding Paradise, Impostor Factory). They are immensely more sad.

It's 1:1 surprisingly outside of an issue or two. It's not as bad as LISA's port.
Don't play the console (Switch) versions of To The Moon or the others, they have a completely different art style and are buggy.

I used to think the same until I played NieR: Automata. That ending hit like a goddamn freight train made of existential dread and sad robots. Something about fighting so hard just to sacrifice everything and then those credits rolling while you struggle through bullet hell to "save" the data felt way too real. It's not just "feelsy," it's like it sneaks up on you and smacks you emotionally sideways. Give it a shot if you haven't-might crack the stone.

I played the Steam version, but I don't believe anything is missing from the Switch version. Only play Tomoyo after (sequel to her route) if you really like her because the twist is retarded. And don't get Clannad Side stories it sucks.

Isn't Side Stories apart of the main game? Or am I thinking of Epilogue?
Also, the Steam version doesn't have the original soundtrack which is why I haven't played it. I think the same issue applies to Switch

NTA but Clair de Lune kicking in at the end with Shuichi talking about how real it all was was unexpected and hit me in the feels. It's a really good scene. "I am Hajime Hinata!" and everything leading up to it in 2 got me harder though.

That happens to me once in a while. Side stories is just that, side stories. But for some retarded reason, it is not a VN. It is literally a slide show and you have no control over how fast the text goes. I have no idea why the fuck they did that.

Epilogue comes with the game, it takes place after Nagisa's route. Just checked the steam version has the OST but 10 bucks as DLC. I'd personally just pirate that but up to you. Clannad's pretty good, Kyou is best girl but they're all likable.
