Far cry 3 was my favorite because it was my first and the revenge story made more sense. I did love far cry 4 as well as the setting/music were phenomenal.

Far Cry 4 has the best combat. It's the first one that lets you shoot while driving, the skills are more fun, and so are the missions. The map feels more alive with the addition of money trucks and whatnot. 2 and 3 are still great and were probably innovative for the time, but I didn't play them when they released, so I can't take the timeframe into account.
1 was okay, and 5 was so ass it scared me out of playing 6.

I liked 5's setting since I grew up in Montana and the evil bunker cult was a cool idea for a villain. But I do think 2 and 3 are the best ones. I played maybe an hour or two of 6 and got bored almost immediately so I doubt I would ever play any more unless they seriously change the gunplay and everything else.

4, it lets you skip the bullshit and have the good ending by just being polite and having dinner.

Played 3, got all the pelts and most other stuff. Then quit the game after you got the wingsuit, somehow the game wasn't any fun with an actual wingsuit. Heard lots of praise for 5 but it's just more of 3, didn't click with me.

Coolest map. Best gunplay. Most unique game in the franchise. They don't make them like this anymore. It was its own thing and it took risks. Ever since 3 they have just copypasted the same inferior gameplay every time. Hell, Primal even uses the same map as 4 but mirrored/upside down.

I tried like 30 mins of 4 and turned it off.
I played a lot of 3s multiplayer but 2 is perfect minus the issues like insta respawning enemies and shit stealth.

2 even if I'd call it a 6/10 game at best. I like that missions aren't really railroaded, and Africa is a godlike setting that offers some of the best scenery. 2's biggest flaw is the lack of mission types because you'll just spend the whole damn game traveling to some base or outpost to blow or kill whatever is marked with a red circle on your map. The game also could have more ways to interactive with the world like having enemies actually belong to factions and engage in firefights or animals being more than just set dressing. 3 wasn't bad, but it felt like at that point stealth became overcentralizing and just trivialized the game for you.

1) dad's game, fully in my generation but he didn't want us playing it so i missed the boat on that one
2) malaria simulator, love the diegetic map, fire spread, level editor but the story was a slog and the gunplay is give and take
3) hated the antagonist and not in a well written 'your supposed to hate him' kind of way he just seemed very closeted and i didnt like that, it was very much ubisoft tower slop but the gameplay is very satisfying and its probably my favorite
4) didnt even play it the antagonist seemed even gayer and i just dont want to be close up with some faggot sniffing me, i did enjoy looking up a blind speedrun on launch week and discovering it has that do nothing good ending bit though
5) lotta shirtless dudes who keep acting like gay rapists in that one, gameplay was absolute nirvana though from comfy fishing with generic npc companions to skydiving shovel launcher attacks it was just a joy to play
pretty 50/50 on the story some anons seem to think it was unironic kino but i just dont see it
6) skipped this one, as i understand it farcry has fallen down the slippery slope and is now unrecognizable slop

Modern ones all feel like the same game, but probably 4 or 5. I don't understand why people love 3 and the old malaria simulators are shit. 5 could've been amazing without the fucking atrocious forced capture sections and then the insanely retarded idea of you escaping only to get recaptured. I don't remember shit about 4 except the bonus ending and I think it had war elephants.

Only Ubisoft's laziness, lack of ambition, and refusal to ever do anything but cut corners and copy+paste so they can release games yearly/every other year. 3 was a fine game and it's not our fault that they've just reskinned it a dozen times since.

Far Cry 1 is the best one. It's basically Crysis 0.5.

It's boring as fuck. The setting is mildly cool, but that's all it has going for it. Consider that you get three weapons (because stone age technology), so you better like hitting things with a club, using a bow, or stabbing with a spear. If you played 4, it's also the same map.

1 and 2 are kind of in their own league. If you like big maps but not in an open-world sense, you might like them but otherwise they are kind of bland.
3 was the most fun.
4 was the comfiest, if a bit boring.
5 had the coolest setting. Also somehow more boring than 4.
I never played 6 because spoilers, I got bored of Far Cry.

Blood Dragon is still the best Far Cry game.

I enjoyed most of them fine but I really bounced off of 6. The shitty aesthetic of "muh Cubano living" is definitely a big part of it. Also none of the characters were that interesting and I got bored of the side content like halfway through. I really enjoyed 4 & 5 & Primal a lot more. Primal on "survival ultra hard" mode or whatever was actually a pretty novel experience, it was cool to play in early human shoes.

I got primal off of a sketchy website without any issue and if it wasn't for the DRM I'd get 4 solely for the Yeti DLC

Rest can fuck off. Yes, the original too - it was never good.

2 was my first Far Cry. Never beat it but it was my favorite. I can still hear the sound of the jeep despite not playing it for 15 years.
3 was fun and easy to be a completionst about, good tropical setting.
4 was really beautiful and perfected the gameplay/world of 3.
5 was trash and I dropped it a few hours in.
