Let's talk about its issues and what we want patched
There's a few big issues:
>currency system
The issue is partly that there is far too few rosaries/shards in the game, as you will constantly be running out even if you use them extremely sparingly.

However, the BIG issue is there is zero incentive to earn these through normal progression, and it's infinitely more efficient to just spend a bit of time powerfarming and then be absolutely loaded with shard bags and rosary necklaces. 10 minutes of farming will give you the same reward as like 4 hours of progression, and then it's actually more efficient to just ignore most enemies as they don't offer you anything.

>lack of combat rewards makes exploration underwhelming
The crest system is really underfleshed. You just stick to the best one and never swap it out, especially so because of the way the memory upgrades work that you never even want to experiment with an unupgraded crest. You basically just choose the best crest, upgrade it, and ignore everything else.

Same with charms/tools, you only have 1-2 slots per type, so you just stick with the best ones. You may occasionally swap one out for one boss/section, but 95% of the time, I'm using my strongest charms and the others are pointless.

Same for the pittance of shards/rosaries for exploration/quests, WAY more efficient to just powerfarm and then ignore this crap.

Some other issues:
>the low HP vignette effect is way too obtrusive when you need to lock in most
>pause on parry is more than a bit excessive
>enemies should drop quest items before you start the quest. There's no reason you need to accept quest and talk to a guy before birds start dropping... feathers, or for purple pollips to appear at all
>the map gets just way too huge; it's like 5x the size of Super Metroid. In Act 1 it's fine, but by endgame, it's just too much to mentally process and remember and blurs together
>over-reliance on tanky and flying mobs. Due to how long they take to kill, it's best to ignore them whenever possible

Yeah honestly I just started farming for currency and ignoring enemies.

If you take it as an action platformer, it's not *that* big of a deal that you never get much power gain or new toys to play with, but even what little the game gives you is damn near worthless. The game is just way too large and with way too tanky enemies for you to barely progress beyond your moveset in the first hour.

The game is actually pretty easy, no harder than Hollow Knight. It just gives you zero incentive to explore, do quests, or kill enemies and your build changes very little from your first few hours through endgame.

Did people really have so much trouble with Sister Splinter? I had to look up who they were even talking about because this wasn't even a memorable boss to me. I think I did it in two tries because I was greedy on my first try. Same with Moorwing - didn't stand out at all.
The only bosses that people keep saying are hard where I actually agree are the Last Judge and that ant warrior dude if you don't have the dash yet.
There are some challenges later in the game that I also found hard (Coral Tower and the Bilewater Boss, the latter mostly because of the runback), but I doubt the people complaining about Sister Splinter will ever get there.

Moorwing was pretty annoying for me, even with (maybe because) that faggot helping me.

Sister Splinter was really easy and a fun fight.

Probably because. I didn't have him helping me, but I did notice that I get worse at fights if there's other shit going on that's supposed to help me, even if it's my own tools flying around.

That combat gauntlet for the conductor was insanely annoying. Worst thing I've encountered so far

The runbacks are the only real issue. It's just pure malice.

the rosary system is awful early and irrelevant later, like all good mechanics.

You're crazy. Wasting time like that is objective. Most of the other issues in this thread are subjective.

It's not wasting time. It's a deliberate decision to not have instant Super Meat Boy redos.

That's not objective, Super Mario Bros isn't shit because you don't immediately respawn right in front of the hole you fell in

Can’t wait to buy this after the second patch is released. I hate artificial difficulty.

I've only ever farmed for enough to get a map or to get the last few rosaries if I'm close to affording something. It usually doesn't take long to be able to go back and afford stuff just playing normally.
I think shell shards are the bigger issue. The only times I've been low are after the donations. But that's because I don't use them that much, especially on bosses. If you start using your tools a lot you eat through them super fast. Rather than drop rates, I think the bigger issue is cost.

Man that sounds like a chore to play, what sunk-cost fallacy does to people, it's hilarious seeing them cope and pretending they are having a blast!

Hollow Knight wasn't like this

Remove the dogshit mmo quests altogether. The game is padded enough

Yes it was, Hollow Knight wasn’t great either. This has more tedium, but at least the movement isn’t a total bore in this one

>there is far too few rosaries/shards in the game, as you will constantly be running out even if you use them extremely sparingly
I'm about halfway through Act 2. I've got ~1.5k rosaries (not including ones stored in necklaces) despite buying up every merchant's stock. I've never farmed for rosaries, but I explore areas thoroughly. Assuming you don't repeatedly lose a shit ton of rosaries by dying without reclaiming your coccoon, the game is generous and the economy is easy to break.

Yeah compared to Hollow Knight theres fuck all to find, but the areas feel like they were stretched out and multiplied to keep up with the increased movement speed. A lot of them feel like complete fillers too like Wormways or Hunters March.

And the areas aren't nearly varied enough to keep me interested just from that.

That I can not fuck her
Anonymous No.720214431 [Report]
At first I thought it was a 6/10, then 9/10, now I settle on like 7.5-8/10.

It's a good game but there is a ton of flaws and it just starts to drag on, too many areas, too much wasted space, running back to annoying bosses and combat gauntlets.
