Stop reading the thread immediately because everyone keeps discussing spoilers. The story is great and you should go experience it for yourself. Seriously close the tab before you randomly read posts spoiling half the reveals and plot twists down the line
Learning the parry timing is the hardest part of the game, expect to die periodically for a few hours until you get the hang of it, and it never gets particularly easy but you can mostly no-death if after a while (except for bosses and minibosses which you have to be insane to first-try)
Exploration is not the focus if you're used to HK, almost every area can be "completed" and 100% on your first way through it

It's really not that bad once you get the hang of the parry timing, it's also not a short game but not humongous especially considering there's not that much exploration. It's a very tight and focused experience.
