Why aren't gaming PC's getting smaller?

A master rig shouldnt be no bigger than a shoe box.

>why aren't they even smaller than mini ITX

Moore's law hasn't kept up. In order to make things smaller you have to make them less powerful or invest in incredibly expensive cooling solutions which themselves take up space.

You can do that if you want, high end components are for sure going to throttle under full load but hey it's doable

Have you not seen how large modern GPUs are?

No mention of the elephant in the room which is console hardware that've always kept a somewhat 'vcr' size. Offering weaker, but finely tuned custom hardware that offers a comparable experience at a fraction of the cost/size.
